Corona virus 2019-nCoV or Wuhan virus has been creating havoc globally with more than 4,99,948 confirmed cases and 22,323 deaths in more than 198 countries, Wuhan virus is spreading fast. (todays update)
Though corona virus is a very common virus that causes common throat infections, this particular corona virus which is believed to have spread from snakes in animal meat market, Wuhan is causing severe throat infections, fever, pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. These severe symptoms are why people with health issues and are of more than 50 years of age are dying more.
World Health Organisation is taking note of the situation and hasn’t yet declared it as global public health emergency. The Chinese government and WHO are working closely to identify the cause and also to identify an antidote for the previously unknown virus. Wuhan and other nearby cities are in complete lockdown and all the precautionary measures are being taken to reduce the outbreak of virus.
With even Nepal confirming a positive case of corona virus, India is not too far from facing the deadly virus. With screening held in almost all the airports, borders along Nepal have been tightened. Many people have been kept under observation and tests have been done on some people to check if they’ve been infected or not.

Here are some of the simple things that can be followed to be effective against the virus:
- Washing hands properly with sanitizers.
- Using masks while travelling outside.
- Avoiding foreign trips, especially to China.
With most of the countries undertaking all the precautionary measures and process is already underway to develop vaccines for CoV-2019, there is a hope that the corona virus will be contained soon without causing a outbreak
